Percy was in his element.
in one's element - to be happy because you are doing what you like or can do best.
Percy enjoys the moment. He can finally prove himself in his new role. He's a good prefect except that he has lost Harry and Ron.Those troublemakers! 😏
Dumbledore: Everyone will please, not panic. Now, Prefects will lead their houses back to the dormitories. Teachers will follow me to the dungeons.
Girl: Hufflepuff, this way!
Boy: Stay together!

Dumbledore: SILLLEEENNNNCEEEEE! There was uproar. It took several purple firecrackers exploding from the end of Professor Dumbledore’s wand to bring silence.
Ron's and Draco's faces are amazing 🤭!
Quirrell: TROLL! IN THE DUNGEON! T-TROOLLL IN THE DUNGEON!! Thought you ought to know.Everyone stared as he reached Professor Dumbledore’s chair, slumped against the table and gasped, ‘Troll – in the dungeons – thought you ought to know.’
He then sank to the floor in a dead faint.
The feast appeared suddenly on the golden plates, as it had at the start-of-term banquet.
Does that mean it didn't usually appear like that? I can't stop thinking 🤔. Maybe Harry was always late for regular meals and food was already served. That's the only logical explanation I could find.
Your judgement is askew.
I know the example is not from HP but I've never
noticed the word even while reading.
askew - not in a straight or level position:
His glasses had been knocked askew by the blow.
Her hat was slightly askew.
That picture is askew.
He arrived out of breath with his shirt undone and his tie askew.
Harry was just helping himself to a jacket potato when Professor Quirrell came sprinting into the Hall, his turban askew and terror on his face.
baked potato, known in some parts of the United Kingdom as a jacket potato, is a preparation of potato. It may be served with fillings, toppings or condiments such as butter, cheese, sour cream, gravy, baked beans, and even ground meat or corned beef. Крошка-картошка в общем. 🤭
Harry: Where's Hermione?
Neville: Parvati Patil said that she wouldn't come out of the girl's bathroom. She said that she'd been in there all afternoon...crying.

A thousand live bats fluttered from the walls and ceiling while a thousand more swooped over the tables in low black clouds,
making the candles in the pumpkins stutter. The feast appeared suddenly on the golden plates, as it had at the start-of-term banquet.stutter - to move or start with difficulty, making short sharp noises or movements:
'The car stuttered along in first gear.'
Ron: It's Levioooosa, not Leviosaaaar. She's a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends!
Harry: I think she heard you.
Someone knocked into Harry as they hurried past him. It was
Hermione. Harry caught a glimpse of her face – and was startled to see that she was in tears. ...
Hermione didn’t turn up for the next class and wasn’t seen all
afternoon. ... Ron looked still more awkward at this, but a moment later they had entered the Great Hall, where the Hallowe’en decorations put Hermione out of their minds.
It was very difficult. Harry and Seamus swished and flicked, but the feather they were supposed to be sending skywards just lay on the desktop. Seamus got so impatient that he prodded it with his wand and set fire to it – Harry had to put it out with his hat.
In the books there are no explosion made by Seamus when his spell fails. Explosions are movie trademark. They put in for the comedy effect and to create a recognisable feature for Seamus as he isn’t that important in the films.
Hermione: Wingardium Leviosa.
Flitwick: Oh, well done! See here, everyone! Ms. Granger's done it! Oh, splendid!
Seamus: Wingard Levosa.
Flitwick: Well done, dear. Whooaaa! Ooh.
Harry: I think we're going to need another feather over here, Professor.
Flitwick: And enunciate. Wingardium Leviosa. Off you go then.
Draco: Wingardium Levio-saaa.
Ron: Wingardrium Leviosar!
Hermione: Stop, stop, stop. You're going to take someone's eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's Levi-o-sa, not Leviosar.
Ron: You do it then if you're so clever. Go on, go on.
enunciate - to say or pronounce words clearly:
'She enunciated each word slowly and carefully.'
Flitwick: One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation the ability to make objects fly. Uh, do you all have your feathers? Good. Now, uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, hmm? The swish and flick. Everyone.
All: The swish and flick.
Flitwick: Good.
rudimentary (formal) - dealing with only the most basic matters or ideas:
'They were given only rudimentary training in the job.'
'His understanding of the language is very rudimentary.'
Professor Flitwick put the class into pairs to practise. Harry’s partner was Seamus Finnigan. Ron, however, was to be working with Hermione Granger. It was hard to tell whether Ron or Hermione was angrier about this.
