🌷There’s a wonderful Tulip Festival these days in Istanbul.
It is held every April, and the city parks, squares, gardens are amass with millions of tulips of every colour and shape.
Here are some fun facts about tulips:
🌷The word “tulip” comes from a Persian word meaning “turban”.
🌷There are over 3500 varieties of tulips.
🌷Tulips follow the sun even when in a vase!
🌷Tulips continue to grow after they’ve been cut.
🌷At one point in history, tulips were the most expensive flowers.
🌷Like many flowers, tulips are edible!
Do you like tulips?
🐣 Have you ever wished someone a Happy Easter only to be told it's not 'their' Easter yet?
It happens to the best of us especially when we don't realize that our friends, students, or co-workers belong to the Orthodox Church, which celebrates Easter on a different day than the Catholic Church and the majority of the world.
Click here to find out why Orthodox Easter is usually a different date than the Catholic one
Which Easter do your celebrate, the Orthodox one 🐣, the Catholic one 🐰 or none of them?
🎂The rights to the song now belong to
the huge media and entertainment group AOL Time Warner. ‘Happy Birthday To You’ is said to earn about $2,000,000 a year in royalties. Sadly, Mildred Hill died in 1916, long before her song became world famous.
Think about her the next time you
blow out the candles on your birthday cake!
🎂Shortly afterwards the song was published in a book, Songs and Stories for the Kindergarten.
No one is sure who took Mildred’s
melody and replaced Patty’s words with ‘Happy Birthday To You’, or when it happened, but the new version quickly became popular through
radio and the new medium of sound films.
🎂Mildred J. Hill and her sister, Patty, were kindergarten teachers in Kentucky, USA. One day in 1893, Mildred composed a melody on the piano. It sounded good, so she played it to Patty, who added some words. Soon they had made it into a simple song to greet the children as they came into class each day.
Good morning to you
Good morning to you
Good morning, dear children
Good morning to you.
🎂The birthday cake is on the table; the
candles are lit. What are you going to do
before you blow them out and make a
wish? Sing ‘Happy Birthday’ of course!
And a quick reminder: today is the last day when you can join

Если б я занимался усерднее, я бы сдал тот экзамен. Но я его завалил.
😿 If I had studied harder, I would have passed that exam. But I failed it.
