1) Arty-farty/artsy-fartsy – пафосный, претенциозный.

The decorations were sort of artsy-fartsy, but the party in general was quite nice.

2) Glar/glah – британский сленг со значением «краска».

Slop on some more glar.

3) Painted – пьяный в стельку.

Man, we got a few bottles of liquor and got painted.

4) Go hard in the paint – сделать все возможное, чтобы работа была выполнена.

I am still at work bored and half sleep! I went hard in the paint over the weekend.

5) Down to a fine art – довести свои умения и навыки до совершенства.

At first I found it difficult to manage all the people at my department, but now I’ve got it down to a fine art.
