2) Full of hot air - нести чепуху.

Don’t pay attention to him, he is always full of hot air.

3) Fair-weather (friend) - надежный только при благоприятных обстоятельствах.

She turned out to be just another fair-weather friend when I asked her for help.

4) Watch the grass grow - заниматься чем-то невероятно скучным.

As for me, going to a pub to watch football is like watching the grass grow.

5) Like a cat on a hot tin roof - если вы похожи на кошку на нагретой жестяной крыше, на душе у вас неспокойно - вы сидите как на иголках.
