What’s cooking? Рабочая неделя на исходе, равно как и наши силы. С нетерпением ждем выходных и начинаем потихоньку расслабляться, не дожидаясь окончания рабочего дня.

1) Farm out – делегировать работу.

Before I retire, I will be farming out the tasks I used to do myself in order to make sure I’ve left everything in good hands.

2) Ease off – работать с меньшей отдачей, чем раньше.

I am leaving my company in a month, so I am slowly easing off now.

3) Coast along – выполнять необходимый минимум рабочих обязанностей, не особенно надрываясь.

My first year in this company I was just coasting along without taking my future seriously until I realized that my job was under threat of redundancy.

4) Throw a sickie – притворяться захворавшим, чтобы взять больничный (sick leave).

I just didn’t feel like working so I threw a sickie.

5) Skive – прогуливать работу, отлынивать от своих обязанностей.

He called in the morning telling he was ill, but it was obvious he just decided to skive.
