Tea is more popular than coffee

💭With some singular nouns referring to institutions(school, college, hospital, church, university, work, prison)

a) My son goes to school

b) He was sent to prison at a young age
(a purpose)

❗️BUT:

If it’s the other reason to go to the prison, school etc we should use an article

a) I went to the school to pick him up

b) He visited the prison to drop off a package

То есть он не совершал криминал, не едет учиться в школу, у него другие цели. Поэтому нужен артикль
