Backend in pure Go (license GPL 3.0), client-side binding in Java, Javascript, and Swift, as well as gRPC client support for C++, C#, Go, Java, Node, PHP, Python, Ruby, Objective-C, etc. (license Apache 2.0). Wire transport is JSON over websocket (long polling is also available) for custom bindings, or protobuf with gRPC. Persistent storage is any one of MySQL, MongoDB or RethinkDB. Other databases can be supported by writing custom adapters. Tinode is not XMPP/Jabber. It is not compatible with XMPP. It's meant as a replacement for XMPP. On the surface, it's a lot like open source WhatsApp or Telegram. Version 0.20. This is beta-quality software: feature-complete and stable but probably with a few bugs or missing features. Уязвимость в платформе Mastodon, позволяющая выполнить код на серверах соцсети [https://opennet.ru/59407-mastodon] В Mastodon, платформе для создания децентрализованной социальной сети, объединяющей разрозненные серверы разных участников, выявлена критическая уязвимость (CVE-2023-36460), позволяющая создать или перезаписать произвольный файл в любом каталоге на сервере, насколько позволяют права доступа, под которыми выполняется Mastodon. Проблема может быть использована для организации выполнения своего кода на серверах, например, атакующий может разместить файл в каталоге с web-скриптами, изменить файл ~/.ssh/authorized_keys с ключами SSH или добавить автозапускаемый сценарий, такой как "~/.bashrc" или ~/.profile. Уязвимости присвоен уровень опасности 9.9 из 10. Уязвимость вызвана ошибкой в коде обработки мультимедийных файлов и может быть эксплуатирована через прикрепление к публикации специально оформленного мультимедийного вложения. Проблема выявлена компанией Cure53, которая проводила аудит кода Mastodon по заказу компании Mozilla, которая выбрала платформу Mastodon для построения собственной социальной сети Mozilla.social. При аудите также выявлена ещё одна критическая уязвимость (CVE-2023-36459) с уровнем опасности 9.3 из 10. Уязвимость позволяет атакующему передать специально оформленные данные oEmbed для обхода защиты от XSS-атак и добиться показа своего HTML и выполнения произвольного JavaScript кода в показанном пользователю блоке предпросмотра. Уязвимости устранены в обновлениях 3.5.10, 4.0.6 и 4.1.4. В настоящее время объединённая социальная сеть Fediverse насчитывает более 12 тысяч узлов на базе платформы Mastodon, на которых зарегистрировано около 9 млн пользователей. #Mastodon -

Behind the scenes, it is very different; anyone can easily run a server, and all these servers are federated (think email), and connected to the same universe, called the Fediverse. For a link aggregator, this means a user registered on one server can subscribe to forums on any other server, and can have discussions with users registered elsewhere. The overall goal is to create an easily self-hostable, decentralized alternative to Reddit and other link aggregators, outside of their corporate control and meddling. Each Lemmy server can set its own moderation policy; appointing site-wide admins, and community moderators to keep out the trolls, and foster a healthy, non-toxic environment where all can feel comfortable contributing.
