Руководство компании Nvidia рассматривает возможность возобновления выпуска видеокарт, специально предназначенных для майнинга криптовалют, в случае, если на них будет спрос.
Как рассказала финансовый директор Nvidia Колетт Кресс (Colette Kress), сейчас нет точных данных, какой объем видеокарт уходит в руки майнеров. С другой стороны, в магазинах по всему миру наблюдается дефицит устройств серии RTX 30, так как их выкупают целыми партиями.
🔺«Если спрос со стороны майнеров будет значительным, то мы можем возобновить выпуск специальных видеокарт. У нас нет данных о том, сколько устройств серии RTX 30 продано в руки майнеров, и мы не верим, что это значительное количество. Мы видим большой спрос со стороны геймеров и считаем, что именно они составляют основу нашей клиентской базы», – подчеркнула Кресс.
Под специальными видеокартами для майнинга подразумеваются устройства на обычных чипах, но лишенные видеовыходов. Они устанавливаются в фермы, где не требуется подключения к монитору. В основном, с помощью видеокарт добывают ETH и другие альткоины, а майнеры биткоина предпочитают специальные ASIC-устройства.

The management of Nvidia is considering the possibility of resuming the release of video cards specifically designed for mining cryptocurrencies, if there is a demand for them.
According to Colette Kress, Nvidia's chief financial officer, there is currently no exact data on how much video cards go into the hands of miners. On the other hand, there is a shortage of RTX 30 series devices in stores around the world, as they are bought out in bulk.
