Each speaker will share a bit about how the Internet works, and there will be space for questions and open discussions. ➡️Who controls the Internet? “So who controls the Internet? We all have our dreams, our hopes, our heroes on the Internet, but also our favourite enemies of the Internet.” Bert Hubert, the founder of PowerDNS, will dive deeper into what he means by controlling the Internet, and who he thinks runs it, and what it means to be a network engineer. ➡️Measuring the Internet How can we better understand the Internet and howi its actually working? Franziska Lichtblau will speak about the importance of Internet measurements. ➡️Can you run the Internet? And finally – how can you participate in running the Internet? Mirjam Kühne, RIPE Chair, will introduce the RIPE community and its role in running the Internet, and the bottom-up policy development process used, and most importantly – what your role in it can be!
