Our encyclopedic collections in Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Jewish Art and Life represent cultures that span the globe and date from prehistory to the present day. Correspondingly, the Museum’s Conservation Department is the most extensive and developed of its kind in Israel. It is staffed by some 20 conservators in laboratories that deal with the preservation and restoration of organic and inorganic objects, archaeological artifacts, paintings, works of art on paper, textiles and costumes, wood and decorative surfaces, and more. In this difficult time of war, we reach out to colleagues in these fields who may be considering immigrating to Israel and are wondering about professional opportunities in their new home, whether at the Israel Museum or other institutions in the country.
