Our bodies are under our control! Of course, there are processes beyond our control and there are a great many of them. But there are amazing "strings" that we can "pull”. For example, we can arbitrarily control some mental functions! Like, verbal repetition and mental inversion of visual images. That is, we can imagine a beautiful palm tree with coconuts and turn it upside down in our imagination. Moreover, we can add an infinite number of completely irrational details to this mental image. During these imaginative motor, spatial (parietal) and visual cortical areas are activated🧠 Since these tasks are performed arbitrarily, control seems to belong to the prefrontal areas.
