Why do our intestines bear different names? Duodenum, jejunum, ileum, blind, ascending transverse... Wouldn't it be easier just to call everything "intestine" and why does the body need different "types" of intestine at all? The answer is more than simple - each department is unique in its own set of properties and functions🙌🏻 The duodenum, for example, is where the secret of the pancreas and gallbladder comes out through the papillae - an absolutely unique property. And in the next sections of the small intestine, digestion as such takes place. In the large intestine is a different task - the absorption of water and the formation of food mush (chyme) formed stool. So, the different names are not a whim of doctors - it's a physiological necessity.
