Anyone interested in a research project on social policies? NatCen International, a global social policy programme at the National Centre for Social Research in London in collaboration with Shabaka, a research organisation focused on diaspora humanitarian preparedness, response and recovery are putting together a proposal to the British Council on “Gender Equality Research in the Baltic Region”. The objective of the project is to provide a more detailed analysis and understanding of gender dynamics in the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, including more detailed analysis of gender equality and attitudes to gender equality within different language communities. We are looking for researchers in the three countries with a focus on localities listed here: Estonia: Harjumaa county (Tallinn, Maardu, Paldiski cities in particular) and Ida-Virumaa county (the whole county); Latvia: Riga and Latgale region; Lithuania: Klaipėda, Visaginas, Vilnius, Vilnius District Municipality, Šalčininkai District Municipality, Švenčionys District Municipality, Trakai District Municipality. It is worth noting also that language proficiency in the following languages is essential: Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian, Polish and Russian. We are happy to offer GBP150 per day for this work.
