📚 Take up, phrasal verb. ❓ Definition: Accept an offer or challenge. ❗️ Examples: 1. Most residents took up the offer of refurbished equipment. 2. So many couples took the city up on its surprise offer that, by late afternoon, overwhelmed officials told new applicants to return yesterday. 3. Nine or 10 of the lads, myself included, took the manager up on his kind offer. 4. I took the train up in the morning, spent three hours or so doing the usual rounds of presentation and schmoozing, and then I thought I would take my host up on her offer to see the sights. 5.
