JARGON IN THE WORKPLACE

▫️ Think outside the box - This term means to not limit your thinking; it encourages creativity with regards to your job description
▫️ Heavy lifting - This refers to the most difficult aspects of a project, as in, "Bill is doing all the heavy lifting for us!"
▫️ Get our ducks in a row - Order and organize everything efficiently and effectively
▫️ Moving forward - Workplace jargon meaning getting things accomplished or making progress
▫️Cubicle farm - A section of the office that contains worker's cubicles

WORKPLACE SLANG

▪️Give someone the brushoff - refuse to talk
The manager gave her the brushoff when she asked for a raise
▪️Tune out - to stop paying attention
I got bored during the presentation and tuned out, that's why when I was asked a question I was at loss.
▪️Go-by (give someone the go-by) - to ignore
I didn't mean to give you the go-by. I was just up to my ears in work, that's all.
