Всемирный банк приказал Австралийскому банку Содружества запустить первый в мире блокчейн-бонд (облигацию, долговое обязательство предприятия или государства).
Бонд Kangaroo относится к иностранным обязательствам, выпущенным в местной валюте Австралии, и назван bond-i – аббревиатура от Blockchain Offered New Debt Instrument (предложенный новый долговой блокчейн-инструмент). Также это отсылка к легендарному сиднейскому пляжу Bondi Beach.
Согласно финансовому институту, бонд будет первым в мире обязательством, создаваемым, распределяемым, пересылаемым и управляемым через блокчейн – технологию распределенного реестра, хранящую записи о всех транзакциях в сети.
В совместном релизе банков заявлено:

The World Bank ordered the Australian Commonwealth Bank to launch the world's first block-bond (bond, debt obligation of the enterprise or the state).
Bond Kangaroo refers to foreign obligations issued in the local currency of Australia, and is called bond-i - an abbreviation of the Blockchain Offered New Debt Instrument (proposed new debt blocking instrument). It is also a reference to the legendary Sydney beach Bondi Beach.
