Архитектура и кодовая база блокчейна Zcash весьма похожа на сеть Биткоина. Разработчики также столкнулись с проблемами масштабирования, и теперь планируют обновить блокчейн, чтобы он смог обрабатывать сотни тысяч или даже миллионы транзакций в секунду.
✅Для этого планируется использовать технологию «шардинга», то есть разделить сеть на подсети и обрабатывать транзакции в этих подсетях независимо. Технология позволит значительно увеличить пропускную способность блокчейна и справиться с большим количеством транзакций.
Интересно, что для внедрения данной технологии протокол сети Zcash планируется написать с нуля. При этом разработчики обещают сделать процесс перехода на новый протокол прозрачным, так что пользователи не потеряют свои монеты.

“I think we should make Zcash usable by 10 billion people by 2050 if we can,” said ECC Chief Engineer Nathan Wilcox at the Zcon1 conference.
The architecture and code base of the Zcash blockchain is very similar to the Bitcoin network. The developers also faced scaling problems, and are now planning to update the blockchain so that it can process hundreds of thousands or even millions of transactions per second.
