Но свой след в отрасли эта история, можно сказать, уже оставила — на фоне продолжающегося сериала с поисками запасов криптовалюты канадской биржи стартап-хранитель криптовалютных активов BitGо заявил о страховом покрытии финсредств, размещаемых на хранение его клиентами.
🔽BitGo, на хранении которой находятся криптоактивы на сумму более 2 млрд долл., сумела заключить партнерство с известной страховой группой Lloyd’s. Благодаря этому партнерству компания теперь может предложить клиентам страховое покрытие на активы стоимостью до 100 млн долл., находящиеся в ее «холодном хранилище».
✅Страховые случаи включают утерю финсредств в результате взлома, кражи сотрудников самой компании либо утерю приватных ключей, заявляет BitGo. При одном условии — покрытие распространяется на финсредства в «холодном хранилище», то есть под полным контролем компании.
☝️В отличие от банковских вкладов, где страхование — вполне обычная вещь, правда, до определенного предельного размера покрываемых финсредств, подобных нормативов и вообще устоявшихся стандартов для криптовалютной отрасли нет. Lloyd’s работает с криптокомпаниями достаточно давно, с 2014 г., но каждый проект существенно отличается от других и устоявшихся подходов в этой области просто еще не существует.

However, this story has already left its mark on the industry - against the background of the ongoing series of searching for cryptocurrency reserves of the Canadian exchange, the start-up keeper of cryptocurrency assets BitGo announced insurance coverage of the funds placed by its customers.
BitGo, which holds cryptoactive assets worth over $ 2 billion, managed to enter into a partnership with well-known insurance group Lloyd’s. Thanks to this partnership, the company can now offer customers insurance coverage for assets valued at up to $ 100 million, located in its “cold storage”.
“Insurance cases include the loss of funds as a result of hacking, theft of employees of the company itself or the loss of private keys, says BitGo. On one condition - the coverage extends to financial assets in the “cold storage”, that is, under the full control of the company.
☝️ Unlike bank deposits, where insurance is quite a common thing, however, there are no such standards and generally no established standards for a cryptocurrency industry up to a certain maximum amount of covered funds. Lloyd’s has been working with crypto companies for a long time, since 2014, but each project is significantly different from other and well-established approaches in this area simply do not yet exist.
