Binance Exchange is completing a deal to acquire a controlling stake in Swipe crypto startup. This is reported by The Block, citing its sources.
This step will allow the exchange to issue its own payment card. Recall that at the end of March Binance announced its debit card, which will allow users to "transfer their favorite cryptocurrencies to the Binance card wallet and spend them at any retail outlets that work with Visa."
❗️Swipe is developing a cryptocurrency wallet, as well as a Visa debit card. The card is issued by Contis Financial Services, a company licensed by the UK Financial Supervisory Authority (FCA).
A deal may be announced this week.
📌 Last week, Binance added support for bank transfers through the British payment system Faster Payments Service (FPS) and the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). This summer, the exchange plans to launch a trading platform in the UK called Binance.UK, which will be regulated by the FCA and will support transfers through FPS and SEPA.
