Мессенджер Viber рассматривает Россию для возможного запуска цифровой валюты Rakuten Coin. Выпуск монеты на других рынках тормозит отсутствие регулирования, заявил СЕО Viber Джамел Агауа в интервью «Коммерсанту».
🔺«Пока мы в процессе решения ряда правовых аспектов, которые довольно трудны для понимания, поскольку не до конца прозрачны. Конечно, так как в России мы занимаем довольно большую рыночную долю, то мы рассматриваем ее для возможного распространения своей криптовалюты», — заявил Агауа.
При этом он подчеркнул, что пока японская компания Rakuten, владеющая Viber, не собирается выпускать свою цифровую валюту в других странах.
На дальнейшее решение о выходе Rakuten Coin на новые рынки может повлиять принятие Libra от Facebook, отметил глава мессенджера.

Viber messenger is considering Russia for the possible launch of the digital currency Rakuten Coin. Coin issuance in other markets inhibits the lack of regulation, Viber CEO Jamel Agaua told Kommersant.
