По данным ресурса Coin Gecko, с начала января и по конец июля 2019 года ёмкость сети Lightning Network (LN) увеличилась почти в два раза.
За этот период количество активных узлов подскочило на 87% на фоне растущего доверия инвесторов к биткоину. Если в начале января в сети LN было 2298 узлов, то к концу июня это количество выросло до 4576.
☝️Отметим, что сеть Lightning Network запускалось как решение проблемы масштабирования биткоина. Помимо BTC её использует платформа лайткоина, который сейчас торгуется чуть ниже $100.
Все транзакции обрабатываются за пределами основного блокчейна, что позволяет переводить средства практически мгновенно и с минимальными комиссиями по сравнению со сборами на базовой платформе биткоина.
Всплеск интереса к LN был зафиксирован в апреле, одним из популяризаторов сети выступил генеральный директор Twitter Джек Дорси. Однако если в январе-июне масштабы применения Lightning Network для обработки транзакций возрастали, то в июле этот показатель неожиданно начал снижаться.
Эксперты считают, что уменьшение ёмкости LN, скорее всего, связано активизацией пользователей основного блокчейна, и вовсе не является следствием ослабления интереса к сети в целом.

Over this period, the number of active nodes jumped by 87% amid growing investor confidence in bitcoin. If at the beginning of January there were 2,298 nodes in the LN network, then by the end of June this number had grown to 4,576.

A surge of interest in LN was recorded in April, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was one of the promoters of the network. However, while the use of the Lightning Network for transaction processing increased in January-June, in July this indicator unexpectedly began to decline.
Experts believe that the decrease in LN capacity is most likely due to the activation of users of the main blockchain, and is not at all a consequence of a weakening interest in the network as a whole.
