Twelve years ago, on January 3, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto launched the Bitcoin network: a genesis block with the first 50 BTC was mined. The text "The Times 03 / Jan / 2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks" was added to the hash of the genesis block. This is a reference to the corresponding issue of The Times and a specific front page article. The speech in the material was about the fact that British Finance Minister Alistair Darling is forced to consider new measures to rescue banks in the context of the economic crisis.
❗️According to a recent study by The Chain Bulletin, Nakamoto may have been working on Bitcoin between 2008 and 2010 in London. According to The Chain Bulletin, it was the printed version of the newspaper that Satoshi used. Only the UK version of The Times used the headline "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks", while the online headline included the name of Alistair Darling. The American version of The Times did not have this article at all.
