Центральный банк Бразилии сформировал рабочую группу по изучению цифровых валют, пишет The Block.
✅По утверждению регулятора, платежи в онлайне растут на протяжении последних лет, а цифровая валюта позволит жителям страны полностью перейти на безналичные расчеты. Кроме того, цифровой реал поможет ликвидировать издержки, связанные с выпуском и поддержанием в обращении банкнот и монет. По оценкам центрального банка, стоимость обеспечения граждан бумажными деньгами составляет 90 млрд реалов ($16 млрд) в год или обычно 1-2% ВВП страны.
📌В ведомстве отметили, что пока лишь намереваются изучить возможные последствия выпуска цифровой валюты и не гарантируют ее появление. «Важно отметить, что одобрение группы не означает, что центральный банк станет выпускать цифровую валюту», – заявил представитель ЦБ Рафаэль Саррес де Алмейда.
🔺Алмейда также сообщил, что основным итогом изысканий рабочей группы должен стать «ответ обществу по этой теме». Помимо прочего цифровая валюта будет изучаться в контексте сосуществования с системой мгновенных платежей Pix, запуск которой должен состояться до конца года.
