Министерство коммерции КНР намерено расширить программу национальной цифровой валюты, включив в нее несколько крупных городов в наиболее развитых регионах страны, пишет The Wall Street Journal.
Ранее в этом году, по сообщениям СМИ, китайский ЦБ приступил к тестированию своей цифровой валюты в Шэньчжэне, Сучжоу, Чэнду и Сюнъане. К дальнейшим испытаниям планируется привлечь жителей провинций Хэбэй и Гуандун, дельты реки Янцзы, а также Пекина, Тяньцзиня, Гонконга и Макао. Также допускается возможность включения в программу менее развитых регионов в Центральном и Западном Китае, если они будут удовлетворять заданным условиям.
🔺В министерстве отметили, что инициативой управляет Народный банк Китая. Сроки расширения тестирования в ведомстве не уточнили. В другом заявлении касаемо программ в сфере услуг, в том числе цифровой валюты, говорится, что разработать соответствующие политики планируется до конца текущего года. Чиновники подчеркнули, что инновационные технологии, такие как цифровые валюты и искусственный интеллект, внесут вклад в развитие экономики страны и отраслей повышенной значимости.
📌На прошлой неделе стало известно, что несколько крупных коммерческих банков Китая участвуют в испытаниях национальной цифровой валюты. Предположительно, их сотрудники уже могли воспользоваться официальным приложением для осуществления денежных переводов.

The Ministry of Commerce of the PRC intends to expand the program of the national digital currency, including several large cities in the most developed regions of the country, writes The Wall Street Journal.
Earlier this year, according to media reports, the Chinese central bank began testing its digital currency in Shenzhen, Suzhou, Chengdu and Xiong'an. It is planned to involve residents of Hebei and Guangdong provinces, the Yangtze River Delta, as well as Beijing, Tianjin, Hong Kong and Macau for further testing. It is also possible to include in the program less developed regions in Central and Western China, if they meet the specified conditions.
🔺The ministry noted that the initiative is managed by the People's Bank of China. The timing of the expansion of testing in the department did not specify. Another statement regarding programs in the service sector, including digital currency, says that it is planned to develop appropriate policies before the end of this year. The officials stressed that innovative technologies such as digital currencies and artificial intelligence will contribute to the development of the country's economy and high-profile industries.
📌Last week it became known that several large commercial banks in China are participating in trials of the national digital currency. Presumably, their employees could already use the official application to make money transfers.
📌In June, it was reported that China may create another digital currency based on the yuan, Japanese yen, South Korean won and Hong Kong dollar.
