Приложение WhatsApp, являющееся одним из самых популярных мессенджеров в мире, станет провайдеров криптовалютных платежей для жителей Индонезии. Команда разработчиков утилиты отметила, что инициатива никак не связана с готовящимся запуском проекта Libra от Марка Цукерберга.
🔺«Мы будем работать с другими криптовалютами, но при необходимости добавим в приложение и Libra. Все будет зависеть от особенностей рынка Индонезии. Сейчас в стране самым популярным цифровым активом является биткоин, но ситуация может измениться после релиза Libra. Проект начнет работать с начала следующего года, так как сейчас мы занимаемся созданием локальной версии программы, адаптированной под встроенный криптовалютный кошелек», — рассказали представители команды WhatsApp.
О проекте первыми сообщили журналисты издания Reuters, назвав его секретным. Позднее информацию подтвердили и разработчики утилиты. Не исключено, что приложение будет поддерживать и актив государственного банка Bank Mandiri, который также находится на стадии создания.
