I am an international student who is currently studying in Miami, USA. I’ve taken over the channel “Русский | Английский“ which from now on will be known as “Anglo-American,” in order to provide some guidance for those who want to advance their English beyond the intermediate level—that is score higher than 5.5 on an IELTS’ test.
Unlike many other English channels that only focus on idioms and vocabulary, I am going to cover multiple aspects of the international language, starting with some basic notions and gradually advancing towards more challenging concepts.
Here is an outline of how the content of the channel is going to be developing (a specific attention will be paid to writing):
I. The basic foundational structure that everyone should be able to comprehend: grammar, syntax, transitional words etc.
II. Essay writing: what are the thesis statement, introductory part, body paragraphs, and conclusion. I am also going to show some techniques for writing Tasks 1 and 2 (IELTS).
III. Reading: strategies and methods for improving analytical skills and reading comprehension in general.
IV. Phonetics: the study of speech sounds. What are the tips and practices one needs to do so as to acquire a proper British and American accents. In addition, I am going to share some personal study tips along with various useful resources (e.g. websites, articles, PDFs, films, songs, podcasts, channels etc.). Lastly, I hope my experience of living in America will be of use to you too, as I am going to be posting about the positive and negative sides of the US, as well as debunking some common myths about it.
And remember, you can learning anything! Anglo-American
