Лесничий Ганс любит Жизель. Точка. По-настоящему любит. Он видит в ней свою невесту, планирует совместное будущее, готов заботиться о ней, представляет общих детей и вообще - представитель традиционных семейных ценностей. Ганс - такой же крестьянин, как и все окружение Жизели, но из-за статуса лесничего он, с одной стороны, как бы «над» всеми и имеет право на своё слово, а, с другой, всеми воспринимается пренебрежительно, ведь каждый считает, что своё более высокое положение он получил незаслуженно. Выскочка. Примазался. Мне всегда было жалко Ганса, особенно во втором акте, когда его убивают вилисы, особенно, когда эту партию исполняет талантливейший Константин Зверев. Многие считают его главным злодеем, как например, Виолет Верди в своей книге о «Жизели». Она видит главной трагедией первого акта импульсивный поступок Ганса, когда он при всех жителях деревни и знати из замка в порыве ревности раскрывает личность Альберта. Это напоминает финал итальянских «Идеальных незнакомцев», Паоло Дженовезе там заканчивает на том, что иногда лучше не доставать скелеты из чужих шкафов, чтобы не открывать ящик неразрешимых противоречий еще живых людей. Мне очень близка эта точка зрения, но Ганса злодеем назвать все равно язык не поднимается. «Человек Божий, обшит кожей», вот что он такое. Достоевский и здесь «рулит»: люди, сколь они ни были б духовны, еще и телесны. Ганс за справедливость. Да, импульсивен и одержим ревностью, да, не без корысти и жажды собственной выгоды, но он за правду. И причина трагедии совсем не в его гневе, она намного глубже. В конце концов, трагедия все равно бы произошла, она витала в воздухе с самого начала истории, сгущалась и твердела, а бедный Ганс оказался виновником по стечению обстоятельств да собственному неразумению. Так злодей Ганс или жертва? Кажется, ни то и ни другое. Он человек. Он любящий мужчина. И не он ли главный герой спектакля? Согласны или нет? Hans is the same peasant as everyone around Giselle, but because of his status of a woodsman, on one hand, he is sort of “above” the people of the village and has the right to have his opinion and to say his words, but on the other hand, is disregarded by everyone, because every person subconsciously thinks that he didn’t deserve his higher social position. I always felt sorry for Hans, especially in the second act, when the Wilis kill him, especially when Konstantin Zverev plays this part. Many consider him the main villain, such as Violet Verdi in her book on Giselle. She sees the main tragedy of the first act in the impulsive act of Hans, when, in front of all the villagers and the nobility from the castle, driven by crazy jealousy he reveals Albert’s true identity. This reminds me of the finale of the Italian "Perfect Strangers", Paolo Genoveze finishes there on the thought that sometimes it’s better not to take someone else’s skeletons out of the closet so as not to open Pandora’s box of unsolvable conflicts of still living men. I agree and totally understand this point of view, however, Hans is still not not a villain for me, I just can’t call him that. There’s a Russian saying «a man of God, sheathed in skin,” that's what he is. He stands for justice, yes, he is impulsive and jealous, yes, he has profit motifs, but he stands for the truth. And the cause of the tragedy is not in his anger, it is much deeper. At the end, the tragedy would have happened anyway, it was in the air from the very beginning of the story, and poor Hans turned out to be the main culprit by coincidence. So is Hans a villain or a victim? Is there a ways where he’s neither? He’s a man. A loving man. And maybe he is the ballet’s main character? Do you agree or not? I'm excited to hear your opinion!
