The alfabeto is a collection of 34 works of graphic art created by Juri Jakovenko. It consists of 26 works of the Latin alphabet and 8 works of the Gothic alphabet. The theme of the collection is a quite popular in art theme of alphabet. This theme actualizes the role of a letter, word and language in contemporary informational civilization, because the language is determining feature of human nature and the whole human culture. In each work of art perception and interpretation of a letter is done in two ways: the first is perception of a letter as a sign with monosemantic meaning and the second which is an interpretation of a letter as a symbol with its polysemanticism, associativity and mysticism.
